Our hearts and funny bones can barely stand this adorable segment from The Tonight Show. Hillary Clinton stopped by the show last night, and the female writers penned a few thank-you notes for the most qualified person ever to run for president. And it triggered some laughter and some serious feelings. Watch this if you want to believe in love again.
Waiting for Broad City season 4 to drop is agonizing. And honestly? We need Abby and Ilana now more than ever. So while we burn one (candle, of course) and wait for them to come back, we’ll be re-watching this weird mini movie with the Broad City babes and Amy and Tina. Then we’ll prob re-watch Sisters. Then seasons 1-3 of Broad City. Then we’ll take a nap.
Damn. Daaaaamn. SNL doesn’t always get everything right, but this week’s cold open was a perfect thing. It’s hard to laugh right now without getting a little cry out first. At least when you’re a woman or a person of color or lgbtq or an immigrant etc etc etc. Kate McKinnon gave us our daily cry on Saturday, so that we could go in to Dave Chappelle’s amazing monologue a little less weighed down.
And honestly the rest of the sketches were perfection too. Watch this Leslie Jones bit as a little bonus, in which she discusses the struggles of dating while being Leslie, and then really grosses out Dave. It’s beautiful.
Team, is it just us or has SNL gotten weirder this season? And when we say weirder, we mean better. It’s not just the political sketches – the writing is sharper and more surprising and also even more feminasty than last year. For example, this super strange and dumb funny sketch about commercials aimed at women. We’re all CHONK, ladies. We’re all… CHONK.
